California Dreaming Themed!

Representing the Three Wine Company Wine Dinner at Christina's with host Steve Hedberg

Three Wine Company is an extension of the wine passion of Matt and Erin Cline. Matt is an industry veteran with generational family involvement in the development of California wine.  After many years at the helm of Cline Winery with his brother, Matt stepped away to work more closely with old vines, heritage clones, and the family farmers that preserve this resource. Thus, a longtime focus on surviving vines from nineteenth century plantings of Zinfandel, Carignane, Petite Sirah,  Mataro and other assorted pioneering varietals with loads of character and flavor! Much of Matt’s work is in Contra Costa County, same vineyards that spawned the original “Prisoner”!

Our host, Steve Hedberg is a North Carolina native, still on his own ‘wine journey”. He has credentials from the Society of Wine Educators, the Wine and Spirit Education Trust, as well as an associate degree in Oenology and Viticulture and has explored wines and vines on five continents. He can open bottles, make jokes, and string sentences together, and truly enjoys sharing his passion for wine with others, however, he is mostly known as his kids' Dad and for his Hawaiian shirt collection.

Tasting Notes!

August Wine Dinner with Chris Hedberg

Three Wine Company

Advintage Distributing

1st Course: Old Vine Rose ’- Gorgeous aromas of wild strawberries, cranberries, and pomegranate on the palate offset by spicy old-vine Zinfandel minerality. Rich and wonderfully juicy on the attack, filled with high-toned wild-berry flavors, finishing with mouthwatering acidity.

2nd Course: Faux Pas Chillable Red ’- Served with a slight chill, this red blend is packed with bright flavors and aromas of strawberry, tart cherry and cranberry. It is packed with flavor yet light and refreshing with good acidity

3rd Course: Old Vine Field Blend ’- Dark purple-ruby center with violet highlights at the rim. Up-front aromas of smashed blackberry, candied raspberry, spiced plum, and dried herbs. The palate shows woodsy herbs with pine needles, sandalwood, and cracked pepper. Great balance and generosity, as the deep-rooted old vines show off their heritage.

4th Course: Evangelho Zinfandel ’- Deep ruby color with crimson-pink hues at the rim. Warm black plum, red currant, blackberry, and kirsch liqueur aromas are accented by purple flowers, spicy potpourri, cinnamon stick, and anise. The wine is ripe, warm, and rich, with a juicy character that is serious yet youthful. Drinking in perfect stride at the moment, this old-vine Zin displays beautiful balance and concentration on the finish.

5th Course: Petite Sirah ’- Purple-black core with dark, staining tears. Dark purple plum, black raspberry, blueberry, and boysenberry on the nose and palate. Everything is juicy and concentrated, full of density and power. The wine is forward, with a compote-like profile and plenty of fine-grained tannic grip to match. Mint, hibiscus, cherry blossom, and violet linger on a long, dark, and dense finish.
